It's All About Him!

Men's Accountability Groups

As Christian Men we we go to church on Sunday. Prior to church or Sunday School, we shake hands with others and we talk about the ball game, the weather, or the latest news event. When asked for prayer requests, we share concerns about a friend or relative. Deep down there are other concerns that we don't talk about. We want to be closer to God, but something is missing in our life.

If asked, most men can name a few if any other men that they can completely open up with and talk about any concern or struggle.

Do you know 3 or 4 men with whom you can get real on a deep level? True accountability to God, our family, and friends involves going below the surface of how others may see us.

Who/What: Accountability Groups consist of 3-5 men who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is an encouraging environment for men who want to draw closer to God. Over time, a strong sense of trust develops. Men in a group are encouraged in areas of their lives such as praying for other members of the group, reading the Bible, and asking and answering challenging questions.

When/Where: Offsite locations, such as houses of the men or other locations, although some groups meet at Eastwood. Groups meet one time per week typically for 1 - 1.5 hours per week.

Why: Men who are in a group committed to God feel strengthened. It becomes clear that other men have struggles similar to your own. When men pray for each other consistently and share their hearts, they will experience the abundant life to a greater degree than ever before. There are several direct Biblical references to accountability such as Galatians 6:2 and Proverbs 27:17.
